Fuji Xerox Colour Publishing Systems Recognised by Fogra For Quality Colour Performance

Reproducing prints with precise colours of industry standards

SINGAPORE, August 12, 2011 – Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific today announced that Fogra has provided Validation Printing System certification to Fuji Xerox’s latest series of colour publishing systems.  Fulfilling the requirements of the brand-new FograCert certification based on ISO 12647-8, the certification validates that Fuji Xerox’s colour publishing systems print with predictable, consistent and measurable quality according to industry colour standards.

Fogra, a leading research centre in Munich, recognises printers that demonstrate commitment to ISO standards, based on measurable criteria for proofing and printing in a production environment for the printing industry.

Fogra certified a series of Fuji Xerox devices including the DocuColor 1450 GA, Xerox iGen4® and Color 1000 Press.  This recognition underscores the quality colour and image produced by these colour publishing systems, managed by automated colour management and image enhancement tools.  These provide a consistent and accurate reproduction of high-class color output, instrumental for the professional businesses and organizations where image quality is of paramount importance.

Three of Fuji Xerox’s system configurations have been awarded with the “Validation Printing System” certification by Fogra:

  • DocuColor 1450 GA + PX140 Print Server + Color Profile Maker Pro
  • Xerox iGen4®  +  FreeFlow Print Server + Oris Press Match//Web
  • Color 1000 Press  + FreeFlow Print Server +  Oris Press Match//Web

“Fuji Xerox is steadfast in providing colour solutions of the highest class and this certification proves once more that our products continue to deliver consistent quality production according to very strict standards,” says Koji Tezuka, senior general manager, Marketing, International Business Group, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific.

The criteria for the new Fogra certification “Validation Printing System” includes: proofing substrate color and gloss, permanence and light fastness, fading, rub resistance, color accuracy, tone value reproduction limits, image register and resolving power, colorimetrical tone value reproduction, homogeneity, consistency, margin information and PDF/X conformance.  ISO-12647-8 sets measurable process standard criteria for different printing processes, such as sheet and web offset printing, coldset printing (newsprint), rotogravure, screen, flexographic printing and digital printing (focusing on proofing).
