Philippines, June 3, 2010 – Fuji Xerox has announced a call for entries for the 2011 PIXI (Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging) Awards, recognising excellence and innovation in print using Fuji Xerox solutions from thirteen nations in the APAC region.
In its forth successful year, the 2011 PIXI Awards will present more categories to keep pace with the continual expansion of the digital print market as well as to attract the corporate user. The entries are being sought for the categories of Books and Manuals, Brochures and Catalogues, Leaflets and Flyers, Posters & POS material, Calendars and Photobooks, Cards and Invitations, Multi-piece, TransPromo, Direct Mail, Digital Packaging and Self-promotion, making a total of 11 application award categories to vie for. Fuji Xerox will also recognise works that reflect environmental processes and the best combined use of Digital and Offset printing.
“This competition gives us an opportunity to see the work our customers produce day after day. I continue to be amazed every year not only by the exceptional quality of the work but also the innovative ways our customers’ use our solutions,” said Mike Braggins, Regional Manager, Marketing Communications who is responsible for the PIXI Awards at Fuji Xerox. “In all my time with Fuji Xerox, PIXI is one of many activities that I am so thrilled to be involved in.”
Entrants for this year’s awards (excluding Australia and New Zealand) will be automatically entered for the Asian Print Awards.
Year on year we continue to see the quality of digital print getting better and better. As Frank Romano, Emeritus Professor from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), also commonly regarded as the grandfather of the printing industry said, “Perhaps in the future we have to start thinking of digital quality as being the standard and offset now talking about how it matches.”
“There are times when even I have difficulty telling whether a piece has been produced by offset or digital,” added returning PIXI judge, 50 year veteran of the traditional print industry, Alf Carrigan.
The PIXI Awards are a great accolade that not only presents an opportunity for those who have an eye for digital print but also spurs on the evolution of digital technology.
Submissions for entries are now open until 31st August and entry is free. Entry forms can be downloaded from http://www.fxap.com.sg/product/pixi2011.jsp
