Fuji Xerox to partner with an NPO, Japan Platform, to launch restoration support programs for communities affected by the great East Japan Earthquake

Provides Printing Assistance and Devices to NGOS without charge

Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. expresses our heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. We send our prayers for earliest possible restoration as well as everybody's safety and health.

TOKYO, May 23, 2011-- As a part of its social contribution activities, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. is tapping into its business resources to support the restoration of disaster-stricken communities in partnership with a non-profit organization, Japan Platform. The earthquake has prompted various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to stage active campaigns for the restoration. Fuji Xerox offers support for such NGOs, who need to provide useful information for people in the afflicted areas, by supplying multifunction devices and production printers with high speed and image quality.

NGOs can print various community information such as operation manuals for evacuation centers and flyers of temporary housing with Fuji Xerox devices.
The support programs include:

  1. Printing assistance for NGOs

Fuji Xerox prints various materials that need mass production using its production printers without charge, while Japan Platform handles printing requests. This program is planned to run from May 23 to September 30, 2011.

  1. Free rental of multifunction devices to NGOs

Fuji Xerox will provide approximately 100 multifunction devices, consumables and maintenance support without charge.

  1. Japan Platform will handle NGOs’ requests for free rental.
  2. Fuji Xerox will provide toner cartridges, 25,000 sheets of A4 printing paper as well as device maintenance.
  3. Fuji Xerox will first provide devices to NGOs in Tokyo and surrounding areas, and gradually expand the availability to the affected areas.
  4. The period of free rental is up to one year from the time of signing a rental contract.
